Covid Relief Nepal – Support HHC

The deadly second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic in Nepal which started in mid-April had the highest rate of infection is the world of over 50% and we urgently reached out to friends, benefactors and partner foundations so that Himalayan HealthCare (HHC) could help alleviate the vast suffering in Nepal.

In two months in mid-June after a severe lockdown including grocery stores for over two weeks, the urban centers have an infection rate belwo 20% now. But the count of death has crossed 8000 and we still have close to 30 per day now even though it has come down significantly from over 200 last month. The prevailing delta variant of the virus and its new mutation are highly transmissible and seem virulent and has infected more young people between the ages of 30 and 40.

The virus raged through many rural regions of Nepal and with little vaccines herd immunity the natural way seems to be the only way out for Nepal! In spite of shortage of essential medical supplies many of the rural health providers continue to serve their communities in isolation camps setup at rural municipalities and villages. HHC has been able to reach out to some of them.

HHC has reached out to its rural munIcipal partners of Dhading district in central Nepal, namely remote Ruby Valley, Ganga Jamuna, Khaniyabas, Tripurasundari, Gajuri and Benighat Rorang in support of over 100,000 community members with oxygen cylinders, oxygen concentrator machines, pulse oximeters, PPE, medicines, etc.

We hope to collect and supply as many of these life-saving medicines, medical equipment and oxygen concentrators as our resources allow. We hope that you will help us by considering a donation to support our efforts.
